Welcome to Gullmarsbadens Camping in Lysekil!

Gullmarsbadens Camping has been around since the 1950s – and recently it was confirmed that we can continue running the campsite, after a long period of uncertainty about shoreline regulations. Now we’re breathing new life into something fresh, without losing touch with our heritage.

We’re a small, personal campsite right by the sea, within walking distance of Lysekil. There are only a few spots here, but they’re highly sought after. You’ll find an original building from the 1950s–60s and an atmosphere many describe as a blend of Macken and Sune’s Summer. It’s genuine, unpretentious – and real.

At Midsommar, Sweden’s traditional midsummer holiday, our fresh start kicked off with happy guests, dogs swimming at sunset, freshly brewed coffee, and homemade croissants. We’re now working on new signs, clearer information, and a completely new website – but that genuine feeling is something we’ll never lose.

Everyone is welcome – both people and dogs!

We appreciate your understanding while some parts of the campsite are currently being renovated. We’re gradually making improvements to make your stay even better – but always with a gentle hand, so that the spirit of Gullmarsbaden will remain.

Nearby the campsite, you’ll find a beautiful swimming beach, forest, and a walking path to Lysekil. The town center of Lysekil is just 2.5 km away. The area offers wonderful nature experiences, rocky shores, hiking trails, and exciting excursions to places like Havets Hus, Norra Grundsund, Brodalen, and Stångehuvud.

The campsite is open during the summer and staffed daily at the reception. Guests choose their own spots, but we’re always available to help and answer any questions.

Right now, we’re making improvements around the site — marking pitches more clearly, updating signs, and enhancing our service. Cleaning is done daily. It’s simple, close to nature, and always welcoming.

The entire campsite and beach are dog-friendly, and we warmly welcome both two-legged and four-legged guests. There’s plenty of space for walks, swimming, and relaxing together with your dog.

Directions

From the ferry (Finsbo/Skår):
Take the first left after the ferry terminal towards Lysekil. Drive about 1 km — the campsite is on the left.

From Road 162:
At the first roundabout entering Lysekil, turn left. Then take the first left again — you’ve arrived!

Opening Hours

Gullmarsbadens Camping opens the facilities/service house from 15 June to 31 October. Reception is staffed with opening hours from 09:00 to 21:00 during this period.

Outside these dates, the campsite is open for seasonal guests and visitors who arrange their stay in advance via phone, mail, or email.
